Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate

A Panic attack that comes without any warning or any prior symptom is called a spontaneous panic attack. This type of panic attack can happen at any place and at any time, including during your sleep.

A Panic attack that comes due to exposure or possible exposure to a particular situation is know as situational panic attack. For example a person may fear going to crowded market place or fear of traveling in an escalator / elevator. This fear could trigger a panic attack.

A Panic attack can also come much after exposure to a particular situation or after repeated exposure to a particular type of situation. Such types of panic attacks are called situation predisposed.
